Meet Kevin Jonsson

Helping technical leaders realize their potential.

Hi. I’m Kevin Jonsson, founder of Jonsson Coaching & Consulting.

I work with leaders and future leaders in engineering and technology. As a certified executive coach, I leverage 20+ years of engineering and strategic operations experience to help clients realize their potential.

Helping others to be the best version of themselves is my purpose.

The Engineering Foundation: My career began in civil and environmental engineering. Designing and managing infrastructure projects taught me how to think systematically, analyze complex variables, and build for resilience. It was during these early years that I developed the rigorous, analytical mindset that still serves as the foundation of my professional approach today.

The Business Evolution: I eventually realized that the most complex and critical systems in any organization are not made of concrete, steel, or code. They are made of people. To broaden my impact, I pursued my MBA and shifted my focus toward the broader business landscape. Spending over a decade and a half leading corporate finance, strategic alliances, and acquisitions, I learned exactly what it takes to scale operations, execute complex business planning, and drive enterprise-wide alignment.

The Leadership Crucible: This evolution naturally led to executive roles where I sat in some of the seats my clients occupy today. As Vice President of Business Operations, I helped launch, build, and run a financial technology venture, overseeing an array of functions including finance, legal and human resources. Following a major corporate acquisition, I transitioned to VP of Operations for the acquiring global enterprise, navigating the challenges of a complex business integration. I was also fortunate at this time to have worked with an executive coach who had a great impact on me - not only be a better leader, but also to gain clarity on myself as a person.

Throughout these high-stakes transitions, I discovered my true passion: helping others be the best version of themselves. I saw firsthand that the technical brilliance that earns a professional their promotion is rarely the same skill set required to lead a high-performing team or influence a diverse set of decision-makers. I transitioned into executive coaching to bridge that exact gap, empowering analytical thinkers to navigate the deeply human dynamics of organizational leadership.

I became a better leader while achieving a greater sense of balance in my life. I can help you do the same.

I’d recommend Kevin as a coach if you are looking to move toward your next opportunity or elevate your leadership capability. Kevin has a practical approach to motivate thoughtful discussion in a way that helped me assess my strengths to pursue roles that aligned with my values. After working with Kevin I pursued and secured a new role that enabled me to have greater impact in the organization as well as with the people I lead and serve.
